Study and reconstruction of the landscape situation from the mammal fauna of the Western Transbaikalia

A conceptual scheme for reconstructing natural situations of past epochs is suggested. The emphasis is on the palaeontological investigation methods. Presented is the evidence from studying the reference sections within the Uda river basin which are of considerable importance in reconstructing the landscape situation during the Late Neopleistocene. A variety of methods have been used to reveal the local distinctive features of natural environment for the Early Sartanian chronostratigraphic section. Results from palaeontological investigations of the objects of study are presented.
