The morphology of the rocky channel of the Angara river in its stretches within the Boguchanskoye and Motyginskoye reservoirs

An assessment is made of the morphology and formation conditions of the incised rocky channel of the Angara river in the impounding zone of the Boguchanskoye reservoir under construction and of the projected Motyginskoye reservoir. Special attention is paid to the forks dominating this stretch of the river. We examine the morphological features and the occurrence patterns of the forks of a different genesis, structural level and morphodynamical type. A morphological analysis is made of the incised bights. The study revealed some characteristic properties of channel deformations, and the formation conditions of sand spits.
