► The effects of LAB-fermented soy milk on melanogenesis were evaluated. ► The extracts of TWK10-fermented soy milk inhibited mushroom tyrosinase activity. ► It suppressed the activity and expression of tyrosinase and melanin production. ► It relied through the positive regulated MITF and p38 MAPK inactivation. ► These results may be used to increase the range of applications of traditional agricultural products.
