Anticomplement activity of ginsenosides from Panax ginseng

► Twelve ginsenosides were isolated and identified from Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer. ► All the ginsenosides showed definite anticomplement activity. ► Sugar moiety facilitates the anticomplement activity for oleanolic acid type ginsenosides. ► The targets research partly explains the antiinflammatory activity of some ginsenosides.
