DIGE enables the detection of a putative serum biomarker of fungal origin in a mouse model of invasive aspergillosis

►Invasive aspergillosis is a major threat for immunocompromised patients. ►We investigate the ability of 2D-DIGE for discovering biomarkers of aspergillosis. ►Mice model infected with bioluminescent Aspergillus fumigatus strain was used. ►Bronchoalveolar lavage proteins and sera proteins enriched by ProteoMiner were tested. ►This method allowed us to identify a protein from fungal origin in sera.
