A proteomic study of in-root interactions between chickpea pathogens: The root-knot nematode Meloidogyne artiellia and the soil-borne fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceris race 5
چکیده انگلیسی
► Fusarium wilt of chickpea, caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceris, is the most important disease limiting chickpea worldwide. ► The root-knot nematode Meloidogyne artiellia causes breakdown of the resistance to Fusarium wilt. ► We study root proteomic responses associated with the tripartite interaction of chickpea with he fungus and the nematode. ► Root proteomes of chickpea lines with unstable- and stable-resistance to the fungus displayed differences after infection by both pathogens. ► Differential protein levels after infection of both pathogens could be associated to the resistance maintenance (for ex. Class I chitinase).
