Plasma protein changes in horse after prolonged physical exercise: A proteomic study

► Protein modifications in horse plasma induced by prolonged, aerobic physical exercise were investigated. ► A proteomic comparison of plasma just before the race, immediately afterwards and 24 and 48 h after the race was performed. ► Putative biomarkers of prolonged physical exercise have been identified and discussed.
