New designed protein assemblies

- We review advances of new oligomeric protein assemblies prepared by different strategies.
- Strategies - linkage of oligomerization domains with rigid linker, engineering of new interaction interfaces and covalent linkage of oligomerizing peptides - are described.
- The most recent strategy - topological fold prepared by using coiled-coil modules - is highlighted.
- The order of coiled-coil forming segments within a single chain can define the self-assembled structure.
