Effect of imidazole derivatives in triphenylamine-based organic dyes for dye-sensitized solar cells

- Two new organic dyes containing different imidazole derivatives have been synthesized.
- The imidazole derivative in dye TPA-B5 has the non-planar structure.
- Dye TPA-B5 has the higher photovoltaic performance compared to the similar dyes.
- The DSSC device based on TPA-B5 achieved the overall conversion efficiency of 3.13%.
