Synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of new dinuclear Mn(III) compounds with 4-ClC6H4COO and 4-BrC6H4COO bridges

► The EtOH shows affinity for dinuclear Mn(III) complexes, acting as ligand. ► The monodentate ligand is crucial to the distortion around the Mn(III) ions. ► The elongation around the Mn(III) ions is major with ClO4 ligand than with EtOH. ► Antiferromagnetic interaction increases with the elongation around the Mn(III) ions.
