Initial employment of pyridine-2-amidoxime in zinc(II) chemistry: Synthetic, structural and spectroscopic studies of mononuclear and dinuclear complexes

► The first Zn(II) complexes of pyridine-2-amidoxime [(py)C(NH2)NOH] are reported. ► Mono- and dinuclear compounds have been prepared and structurally characterized. ► The Zn(II)/acac−/(py)C(NH2)NO− compound exhibits green photoluminescence. ► The complexes have interesting supramolecular structures.
