Nickel(II) complexes of di- and tri-substituted thiourea mono- and di-anions

► Cationic nickel(II) complexes with thiourea monoanion ligands prepared by simple one-pot process. ► Easy incorporation of different functional groups in ligand synthesis gives access to range of complexes. ► Structural characterisation of one complex shows slightly distorted square-planar nickel centre.
