Synthesis and characterization of binuclear [ONXO]-type amine-bis(phenolate) copper(II) complexes

► Binuclear copper(II) complexes of amine-bis(phenolate) ligands (H2L) bearing different side-arms were synthesized. ► The smallest Cu···Cu separation and bridging angle of these complexes make them unique. ► Copper complexes display a range of interesting results due to the effect of pendant arm on their magnetic properties. ► Electrochemical oxidation of complexes yielded the corresponding oxidized or reduced species due to ligand or metal centered process.
