Structural comparison of alkylated derivatives of (bmmp-dmed)Ni and (bmmp-dmed)Zn

Alkylation of the nickel-thiolato (1) and zinc-thiolato (2) complexes reveal a significant M-S bond distance increase (relative to changes in M-N distances) in the latter, but not the former, consistent with differences in M-S bonding in nickel vs. zinc thiolates.
