Chloro and acetato complexes of platinum(II) with functionalized thioethers

[PtCl2(PhCN)2] reacts with a series of thioethers capable of giving metalation to afford the corresponding [PtCl2(RSR′)2] complexes. Their reactivity upon Cl−/OAc− exchange with silver acetate shows a complex pattern, which depends on the nature of the thioether.
