Electrochemical studies of the oxidation and reduction of dicobalta-superphane complexes

► Monocations of dicobalta-superphanes having η4-cyclobutadienyl linkages were studied by electrochemistry and by IR spectroscopy. ► Methyldisila-bridged species exhibit strong transannular interactions. ► Monoanions of this class appear to have significant delocalization between largely cobalt-based redox centers.
