A non-linear (2,2,2) alkoxo-bridging in a FeIII4O6 core potentially relevant to iron-tunicates

► Tridentate Schiff-base ligand yielded a nonlinear alkoxide bridged tetraferric(III) complex. ► The complex renders similarities to [Fe4(OR)14] found in ascidian blood cells. ► Moderate antiferromagnetic coupling with low lying exited states is observed.
