Copper(II) assisted hydrolysis of 2,4,6-tris(pyrazol-1-yl)-1,3,5-triazine. Crystal and molecular structure of catena-[CuL(H2O)Cl]n (LÂ =Â 2,4-dione-1,3,5-(1H)-triazin-1-amido)

► A novel ligand is obtained through partial hydrolysis of a triazine derivative assisted by copper(II). ► The first X-ray structure for a complex with 2,4-dione-1,3,5-(1H)-triazin-1-amido anion is reported. ► The reported structure can be visualized as building block to the assembling of extended networks.
