Reactions of lithiated 2,5-dimethylazaferrocene with selected electrophiles

Reactions of lithiated 2,5-dimethylazaferrocene with 4-methoxybenzaldehyde, 4-methoxyacetophenone, 4,4′- dimethoxybenzphoenone, N,N-dimethylformamide, chlorodiphenylphosphine and diphenyl diselenide lead to Cp- and laterally substituted products or their mixtures.
