Synthesis and oxidation of (benzimidazolylidene)Cr(CO)5 complexes

A series of (benzimidazolylidene)Cr(CO)5 complexes were synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystal structural analysis. Chemical oxidation with (4-BrC6H4)3NSbCl6 afforded the complex with the spin delocalized on the benzimidazolidene moiety.
