Stereoselective synthesis of a new class of potent and selective inhibitors of human Δ8,7-sterol isomerase

Secosteroid-type cis-configured amino alcohols are potent and selective inhibitors of human Δ8,7-sterol isomerase in cholesterol biosynthesis, whereas epimeric trans-aminoalcohols and aminoketones are inactive.
