Synthesis and biological evaluation of helioxanthin analogues

Among a series of synthetic helioxanthin derivative, compound 15 exhibits the highest efficacy in suppressing the production of hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg) production in HepA2 cells with EC50 values of 0.06 μM. The potency even exceeds that of the parent compound helioxanthin.
