Design, synthesis and ex vivo evaluation of colon-specific azo based prodrugs of anticancer agents

The ex vivo release capability of synthesized prodrugs with fresh rat fecal material was 60-70% after 24 h incubation at 37 °C. In the presence of rat cecum content more than 80% of drug was released.
