Synthesis and properties of thermo- and pH-sensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)/polyaspartic acid IPN hydrogels

► IPN hydrogels show larger and more uneven porous network structure than the pure PNIPAAm hydrogel. ► IPN hydrogels exhibit faster de-swelling and swelling rates and enhanced thermo-sensitivity. ► Due to the presence of PASP hydrogel, the IPN hydrogels also possess a remarkable pH-sensitivity.
