The release of active substances from selected carbohydrate biopolymer membranes

► In this paper are presented results of active substance release from biopolymers. ► As a biopolymer application to control release transdermal system was used. ► Studied polymers were: polylactid acid, dibutyrylchitin, and chitosan. ► Obtained results were performed according two stage complex diffusion model. ► Different hydrophilicity and swelling in buffer of studied samples was observed.
