Diverse patterns of cell wall mannan/galactomannan occurrence in seeds of the Leguminosae

► Endosperms from seeds of Leguminosae were submitted to sequential extractions. ► Soluble and insoluble polysaccharides were analyzed. ► Galactomannans and mannans were found in Caesalpinioideae and Faboideae. ► Galactomannans and cellulose were found in Mimosoideae. ► Mannan was isolated for the first time from unripe endosperm of a Caesalpinioideae.
