Polycaprolactone/chitosan blend nanofibres electrospun from an acetic acid/formic acid solvent system

► Polycaprolactone/chitosan nanofibres are electrospun using acetic acid/formic acid. ► Uniform, reproducible nanofibres are obtained containing both polymers. ► The blend structures show an ultrafine nanofibrous web in between the main fibres. ► The addition of chitosan increases the solution's conductivity and viscosity. ► The fibre diameter lowers with increasing chitosan ratio.
