A polysaccharide from Agaricus blazei attenuates tumor cell adhesion via inhibiting E-selectin expression

► A low molecular weight polysaccharide (LMW-ABP) was isolated from Agaricus blazei. ► LMW-ABP inhibited expression of E-selectin induced by TNF-α in endothelial cells by blocking the NF-κB activity. ► LMW-ABP leads to a significant reduction in TNF-α stimulated adhesion of HT-29 cells to HUVEC. ► LMW-ABP might have implications for strategies preventing and attenuating blood-borne metastasis.
