Synthesis and characterization of thermal-responsive chitin-based polyurethane copolymer as a smart material

► The first investigation of a thermal-responsive TRCPUs composed of IPDI, PEG and chitin. ► TRCPUs organogel was an organosol at room temperatures that transformed to a semi-solid organogel at about 105 °C. ► TRCPUs synthesis were characterized by 1H-NMR, FT-IR and DSC ► The sol-to-gel transition in organic solvent was observed by rheological behaviour and photograph. ► By changing the PEG composition, the sol-to-gel transition temperature can be manipulated.
