O-Carboxymethyl chitosan nanoparticles for metformin delivery to pancreatic cancer cells

► In the current work, O-CMC-metformin nanoparticles were prepared and characterized. ► The potential of the same against pancreatic cancer cells were analyzed in vitro. ► MTT assay showed preferential toxicity of nanoparticles on pancreatic cancer cells. ► Uptake of the nanoparticles by pancreatic cancer cells and normal cells were confirmed by imaging. ► This nanoformulation can be a therapeutic for both pancreatic cancer and diabetes.
