Modulatory effects of one polysaccharide from Acanthopanax senticosus in alloxan-induced diabetic mice

► One water-soluble polysaccharide ASP was extracted from Acanthopanax senticosus. ► The physicochemical properties of ASP were confirmed by the chemical and instrumental analysis. ► ASP could greatly attenuate the levels of blood glucose and lipids in alloxan-induced diabetic mice. ► ASP could improve the body weight and elevate the insulin level in alloxan-induced diabetic mice.
