Synthesis of biomaterial thin films by pulsed laser technologies: Electrochemical evaluation of bioactive glass-based nanocomposite coatings for biomedical applications

► Evaluation by electrochemical methods of bare Ti vs. Ti coated with BG or BG + PMMA protective layers. ► PMMA addition to bioglass reduced the bone ability to bond. ► Significant increase of the shielding efficiency against corrosion of the applied coatings. ► Increased resistance to corrosion and improved bioactivity of implant area in contact with bone.
