Sol-gel derived nanoscale bioactive glass (NBG) particles reinforced poly(ε-caprolactone) composites for bone tissue engineering

► Sol-gel derived NBG particles were examined as a reinforcement for PCL polymer. ► The mechanical properties of the PCL/NBG composites were significantly improved. ► The composites showed remarkably enhanced in vitro biocompatibility and bioactivity.
