Clotrimazole-loaded Eudragit® RS100 nanocapsules: Preparation, characterization and in vitro evaluation of antifungal activity against Candida species

► Clotrimazole-loaded NC were in the nanometric range and positively charged. ► Physicochemical characteristics of NC were kept for 60 days. ► Nanoencapsulation improved the drug photostability against UV radiation. ► NC prolonged the drug release by anomalous transport and first order kinetics. ► NC were able to maintain clotrimazole activity against Candida species.
