Anti-amyloidogenic activity of glutathione-covered gold nanoparticles

► AuSG_7 nanoparticles are able to interact with lysozyme amyloids at acidic pH. ► These nanoparticles reduce the amyloid aggregates by promoting depolymerization. ► AuSG_7 nanoparticles display inhibitory action on lysozyme amyloid aggregation. ► The half inhibition concentration (IC50) for AuSG_7 nanoparticles is 6.19 μg/ml. ► The half depolymerization nanoparticles concentration (DC50) is 8.26 μg/ml.
