Differential thermal analysis of Ag-Ge-Se, Ge-Se charge materials in the process of their heating and Ag8GeSe6, GeSe2 compound synthesis

► The heating of Ag-Ge-Se and Ge-Se charge materials for GeSe2 and Ag8GeSe6 synthesis. ► Phase transformations and chemical reactions during the heating were studied by DTA. ► Enthalpies and phase transformations temperatures for these compounds are determined. ► Ag8GeSe6 is formed through the solid phase reaction between Ag2Se and GeSe2. ► GeSe2 is formed in the amorphous state, Ag8GeSe6 and Ag2Se in crystalline state.
