Displacement burst and hydrogen effect during loading and holding in nanoindentation of an iron single crystal

The excursions in displacement during loading and holding have been investigated through nanoindentation of an iron single crystal; the hydrogen effect on these excursions has been studied as well. The results show that the excursion corresponds to burst nucleation of many dislocations. Hydrogen enhances dislocation nucleation.
