Collagen type I amide I band infrared spectroscopy

▶ We discriminated bovine flexor tendons from rat tail tendons using FT-IR analysis. ▶ Collagen amide I band was involved in the FT-IR tendon discrimination. ▶ Richness and ordered array of specific molecular vibrations promoted IR tendon differences. ▶ Biomechanical demands probably affected collagen amide I band complexity in tendons.
