Nanomechanical and electrochemical properties of ZrN coated NiTi shape memory alloy

► Relatively high hardness was obtained for ZrN thin films showing (200) texture. ► ZrN with (200) texture was obtained only for temperatures equal and above 500 °C. ► Corrosion resistance is relatively better on ZrN thin films with (200) texture.
