Effects of nickel coating thickness on electric properties of nickel/carbon hybrid fibers

► The presence of Ni can introduce high electric conductivity to the carbon fibers. ► The electrical conductivity increased with plating time and thickness of Ni layers. ► The average Ni size on the carbon fibers dropped with increasing plating time. ► The optimal coating thickness was found in the range of 0.75-1.75 μm.
