TiAlNb intermetallic compound coating prepared by high velocity oxy-fuel spraying

► Coatings with substrate roughness of 8.33 μm display the best combined strength. ► New AlTi3 phase appeared in coatings due to the remelting and rapid cooling. ► Coatings with thick bond coat display lower bond strength values. ► High velocity and degree of melting of particles account for the low porosity.
