Enhancement of enzymatic digestibility of oil palm empty fruit bunch by ionic-liquid pretreatment

▸ [Emim]OAc-pretreated EFB showed the highest enzymatic digestibility. ▸ Crystalline cellulose of EFB was changed to an amorphous state by [Emim]OAc pretreatment. ▸ Lignin removal and the decrease of CrI and DP are crucial factors for enhancing the enzymatic digestibility.
