Cell surface binding and uptake of arginine- and lysine-rich penetratin peptides in absence and presence of proteoglycans

► We studied cell surface binding and cellular uptake of penetratin variants. ► Proteoglycans increase uptake of membrane-bound peptide, but not peptide binding. ► Arginines increases both affinity and ability to stimulate uptake once a peptide is bound.
