Disruption of the annexin A1/S100A11 complex increases the migration and clonogenic growth by dysregulating epithelial growth factor (EGF) signaling

► We interfered with AnxA1/S100A11 complex formation in HeLa cells ► Delayed EGFR transport to late endosomes and degradation was observed ► This was associated with prolonged EGF-induced EGFR and MAPK signaling ► These cells showed enhanced cell migration and clonogenicity ► We conclude that EGF signal termination is balanced by the AnxA1/S100A11 complex
