Perturbation of zebrafish swimbladder development by enhancing Wnt signaling in Wif1 morphants

► The Wnt inhibitor Wif1 is expressed in developing swimbladder in zebrafish. ► Knockdown of Wif1 affects the development of all three tissue layers of swimbladder. ► Hedgehog signaling, but not Wnt signaling, negatively regulates wif1 expression. ► A proper level of Wnt signaling is important for normal swimbladder development.
