Direct interaction of the Usher syndrome 1G protein SANS and myomegalin in the retina

► The human Usher syndrome (USH) type 1G protein SANS directly interacts with myomegalin. ► Both scaffold proteins are partially co-localized in the retinas of mouse, non-human primate and human. ► In retinal photoreceptor cells both proteins are associated with microtubule-based intracellular cargo transport. ► Present decipherment of the USH protein network composition provides novel insights into the pathology of the USH disease.
