Glutamine induces nuclear degradation of the NF-κB p65 subunit in Caco-2/TC7 cells

► Molecular mechanism by which glutamine inhibits NF-κB pathway. ► Glutamine induces nuclear translocation of NF-κB and Ser536p65 phosphorylation. ► In the nucleus glutamine induces NF-κB degradation via ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. ► This inhibitory effect of glutamine requires p38 and IKKα protein kinases activation.
