► The amphibian neurotoxin, anntoxin showed strong analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities. ► It inhibited secretions of both tumor necrosis factor alpha and cyclooxygenase-2. ► Anntoxin reduced the edematous epidermis induced by carrageenan.
