Participation of estrogen receptors in the antidepressant-like effect of prolame on the forced swimming test

► Synthetic 17β-aminoestrogens are estradiol analogs and share its estrogenic effects. ► Contrary to estradiol the 17β-aminoestrogens produce anticoagulant effects. ► Prolame, but not other 17β-aminoestrogens produces antidepressant-like effects. ► Antidepressant-like effect of prolame and estradiol is mediated by estrogen receptors.
