Motor and locomotor responses to systemic amphetamine in three lines of selectively bred Long-Evans rats

► Rats selected for 50 kHz vocalization at young age differed in behavior as adults. ► High vocalizing rats had elevated locomotor activity as compared to low ones. ► All lines of rats increased their locomotor activity after systemic amphetamine. ► Increases in activity among lines were similar as a fraction of saline controls. ► Selection of rats based on vocalization selects also other features of behavior.
